One Response to Psalm 2004

  1. I bought John Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’ while I was in high school, a long time ago. The album jacket hangs framed on my studio wall. Over the years I have painted homages to the album’s tracks. ‘Psalm’ was the last painting, the others have found homes. Flanders gallery asked permission to hang it horizontally and I think it’s a stunning option.

From Wikipedia: “The album is a four-part suite, broken up into tracks: “Acknowledgement” (which contains the mantra that gave the suite its name), “Resolution”, “Pursuance”, and “Psalm.” It is intended to be a spiritual album, broadly representative of a personal struggle for purity, and expresses the artist’s deep gratitude as he admits to his talent and instrument as being owned not by him but by a spiritual higher power.”
